The Big Reveal!

Those of you who follow me on Facebook may have noticed that I was very excited yesterday. (For those of you who don't, well, just take my word for it now.)

Anyway, here's why!

The wonderful Glendon Haddix (who is a GENIUS!) from Streetlight Graphics has completed the cover for my upper mid-grade book, launching this summer: Year of the WereCurse: WereWhat?

And it's absolutely FABULOUS! (Okay, don't take my word for it -- take a look for yourself!)

It's fabulous, right? Tell me it's fabulous!

Okay, so what do you really think?

Book of the Day -- Demon Day, by Penelope Fletcher

Today's Kindle INDIEpendence Book of the Day is Demon Day, by Penelope Fletcher. Here's the blurb:

Rae is falling into darkness. Grieving the death of her friend at the hand of dark magics, she is full of hate and vengeance. Tracking Devlin and his followers across demon territory, she is forced to turn to the local shifter pack for help. Tricked into rescuing the Pack Alpha’s daughters from the Temple, she learns there really is no place more dangerous than home. Breandan the fairy is done being patient. He wants Rae to stand by his side and refuses any claim they are not destined to be. Unsure, Rae denies him the right to have her, but will the urges of her nature and the strength of their bond allow her to walk away? Then there is Tomas, the alluring vampire who needs her help. But what exactly does he expect of her, and is the cost of helping him worth turning her back on life itself? Courted by the dark, and in love with the light, Rae must choose her path, or face the burden of Rupturing the world once more.

It's available on Amazon for just $2.99!

Book of the Day -- Monster Mashup

Here's a great book to curl up with in front of the fire (whether a fireplace or a campfire). Today's Book of the Day is Monster Mashup, by MJA Ware.

Here's the blurb:

Now with twelve short stories.

Monsters, magic, goblins, zombies, and more. Be prepared to sleep with the lights on. This collection of short stories will have you looking over your shoulder, avoiding mirrors, and jumping at the slightest sound.

From fiendish creatures hiding in your bathroom mirror, to Halloween pranks gone deadly wrong. Each story will scare, delight, and surprise.

No gore or cursing here, just good ol' spine-chilling fun!

Infinite Reflections – When Jessie's sister gets trapped in a haunted mirror, he must figure out how to destroy the creature within. Though, Mom might like it if he gets his sister out first.

Bloody Marcy – Mixing a game of Bloody Mary with a practical joke proves to be a deadly combination.

Monster in the Mirror - Nate, his little sister, and best buddy Dan, stumble upon a hidden room during a sleep-over. What they find inside is anything but friendly.

Death Trap – Mike takes a bet to go inside a haunted house, but will he live long enough to collect?

Steven, Space Stowaway – Steven sneaks onboard a spaceship bound for Mars. Just one problem: the Captain has a particularly unpleasant way of dealing with stowaways.

The Price of Friendship – How much is a best friend worth? Joey finds out the hard way.

Hobgoblin Horror – Jake only volunteered at the retirement home because Shelby works there. So, it's no wonder he's doesn't hear Mr. Fitches' warnings about a local homicidal hobgoblin—too bad for him.

Rolling Leprechauns for Change – Leprechauns can have a nasty sense of humor—especially, when they're getting even.

Hide-n-Go-Coffin – Playing hide-and-seek in a cemetery is disrespectful. When it happens to be cursed, the results can be deadly, or maybe even worse.

Grandpa's Suits – A game of spin-the-bottle with the school pervert isn't a bright idea. Fortunately for Zoey, she's not quite alone.

Brother's Keeper – Zack would be wise to spend less time looking for his missing sled and more time worrying about what's lurking outside. And he's not the only one who'll suffer for his single-mindedness.

Super Zombie Juice Mega Bomb When Life gives you lemons, kill zombies. In this special short story that inspired the upcoming novel, Nate and Misty's town is overrun by the undead and they'll need a little luck to squeeze their way out of this sticky mess.

These stories are not recommended for kids under 8.

You can get Monster Mashup from Amazon, B&N or Smashwords for just  $1.79.

Book of the Day -- Summoning!

Okay, okay, so those of you reading my blog are probably somewhat familiar with this cover, but here it is, anyway:

And just in case you've missed it, here's the blurb, too:

Summoning is based on a “true” Irish witch story in which an evil vicar sells not only his soul but also that of his young servant girl, Meredith, to the devil. After learning the dark craft herself, Meredith finds herself trapped in the demon's shadow when she is accused of witchcraft. It is up to her to find the light and save herself – and those she loves – from the deal.

You can find Summoning on Amazon, B&N and Smashwords for just $2.99!

(But then, you knew that.) ;-)

Book of the Day -- Through the Eyes of a Geek

Today's Book of the Day is Through the Eyes of a Geek, by Kat Brookes. Here's the blurb:

Sixteen-year-old Ryan Matthews had always been the ‘cool’ kid in school, but being ‘cool’ doesn’t get him a free pass into Heaven. Marty, Heaven’s gatekeeper, refuses to let him in until Ryan returns to Earth and makes a difference in someone’s life. Sounds easy enough. That is, until he learns that ‘someone’ is Zachary Adams, his old classmate and the world’s biggest geek.

Convincing Zachary that he’s his angel isn’t an easy task. Especially since Ryan hadn’t exactly been nice to him when they were in school together. But Ryan is determined to see this assignment through, especially when he begins to see life through the eyes of a geek.

To make up for the way he’d treated Zachary, Ryan is not only going to teach him how to fit in. He’s going to help him win the heart of Kristen Williams, a girl Ryan used to be close friends with, the same girl Zachary has a thing for.

Will Ryan finally get those white wings he’s been working toward? Or will he end up on the wrong side of those Pearly Gates a hopelessly fallen angel?

You can get Through the Eyes of a Geek from Amazon, B&N and Smashwords for just $2.99!

Now, Hex's family hopes to use her magic for their own sinister purposes and their enemies just want her dead. Abandoning her magic will leave Hex defenseless but she's seen how quickly power corrupts even the best intentions.

Book of the Day

Today's Book of the Day is a fantasy -- Paint World, a Dragon's Orb by Tela Wallen. Here's the blurb:

If they paint it they are able to walk right into it. If they draw it, it becomes a reality that can decorate a whole room. If they cook it, it is so mouth watering that you can’t get enough.

Three brothers and one newly turned vampire must work together in order to save Tempest’s parents from Dathrin. The youngest of the brothers is Gabriel who has learned to deal very effectively with his epilepsy. Teamed with his best friend, Drake, they make a formidable duo in the art of catering. William, the oldest brother, is terribly jealous of the attention Gabriel gets due to his condition and tends to brood over things and lash out at those people closest to him.

When William learns that he is to become the next Canvaser in charge of all of Paint World he feels as though he is finally getting his way, until he learns that Gabriel and Drake have always been a part of Paint World without realizing it due to the powers that flow within their mom and dad. He questions his own position within the family as well as Paint World and has to learn some hard lessons before deciding to work with his brothers instead of against them.

Tempest’s parents created an all seeing orb that Dathrin must have in order to finally rule all of Paint World. He will kill her parents if she doesn’t bring him this orb that she didn’t even know existed until now. They must find the orb then somehow save her parents. Gabriel will be asked to make the biggest sacrifice of all in the name of love and friendship.

Book(s) of the Day(s)

You know what happens when you go out of town and don't have access to the internet? Well, in my case, it meant that I missed the chance to tell you about TWO books of the day for the INDIEpendence Giveaway!

*duly chastises oneself*

So, here's what I should have told you on Friday and Saturday:

Friday's Book of the Day was Codename: Dancer, by Amanda Brice. Here's a bit of info about it:

Aspiring ballerina Dani Spevak is thrilled when hit TV show Teen Celebrity Dance Off comes to the campus of her performing arts boarding school. She trades the barre for the ballroom and gets set to cha-cha-cha to stardom with Hollywood wonderboy Nick Galliano.

At first their partnership is awkward, because Dani is in awe of her longtime teen idol crush. But soon their chemistry is heating up the dance floor and the attraction moves into real life.

Her excitement is short-lived, because someone wants her off the show. Bombs, poisoning, arson… Will Dani’s 15 minutes of fame be over before she reaches age 15? Dani and her friends are suddenly at the center of some serious sabotage. And if she doesn’t find out who is behind it, her next pirouette could be her last.

It’s like Nancy Drew in toe shoes in this light-hearted tween mystery, a finalist for Romance Writers of America’s Golden Heart® Award for Best Young Adult Romance.

It's available on Amazon, B&N and Smashwords for just $1.99.

And for Saturday, the Book of the Day was Shimmerspell, by Kimberly Spencer. Here's more:

When sixteen-year-old Jensen Meadows finds herself caught in the middle of an ancient faerie war, she quickly learns that faeries aren't made of sparkly goodness like Disney would have mortals believe. And with the help of Liam Casey, she begins to suspect that her whole life has been a lie. But what if the truth is more than she can handle?

You can find it on Amazon, B&N and Smashwords for just  99 cents!

Make sure to check out these two wonderful books by INDIEpendence authors!

Book of the Day -- Tempest, by Holly Hook

Here's today's Kindle INDIEpendence Giveaway Book of the Day: Tempest, by Holly Hook.

Let me just add that this book is GREAT! (and so is the sequel . . . coming soon!)

Here's the blurb:

Book 1 of the Destroyers Series

Sixteen-year-old Janelle never thought the gray spiral birthmark on her arm meant anything special. That is, until she meets Gary, a boy her age with a birthmark exactly like hers. Gary’s attractive, brooding, and perfectly normal…except for the fact that he materialized out of a dangerous hurricane right in front of her. Janelle’s certain of only one thing. Gary’s mark—and hers, too—mean something, but he’s reluctant to tell her what.

At last she squeezes the truth from Gary about their markings. And the truth is utterly terrifying: Janelle and Gary are more connected to the destructive power of nature than she ever dreamed possible. And learning the truth about herself is only the start of her nightmare.

Look for the book on Amazon and Smashwords.

Book of the Day -- After Eden

Here's another one of the great books being offered as part of the Kindle INDIEpendence Giveaway:

Devi knows she shouldn't trust the new employee at her favorite used bookstore. Sure, he's funny, smart and hands down the sexiest guy she's ever met, but something dark lurks behind his unassuming smile and sinful green eyes.

Still, a girl can't always afford to be picky. When an angel abducts your twin brother it should come as no surprise that the one person who can help you get him back is a demon--and only if you're willing to pay his price.

After Eden, by Katherine Pine is available from Amazon and Smashwords for just 99 cents!

Lookie, Lookie!

Ever have one of those days when you want to throw up your hands and scream at the universe to just let one thing work out the right way? I know I do. It's been a rough emotional month for me (and yes, that could have something to do with the total abandonment of this blog for so long!).

Don't get me wrong -- it's not like my entire world is crashing in or anything. It's more like one obstacle after another after another dozen that can really wear on a person's optimism.

Then, this morning, I was checking on things (as usual), and guess what I found. This Wonderful Review

Let's just say that my world has been put back into perspective in such a nice way!
